A Brampton man faces drunk driving charges after a minivan slammed into a parked vehicle and flipped onto it’s side on a normally quiet residential street last night, Peel Regional Police report.
Police say the 2000 Nissan minivan was travelling west on Fern Valley Crescent in the area of Bovaird Drive and Dixie Road when, at 9 p.m., it hit a parked 2007 Dodge Caravan on the opposite (south) side of the street. The Nissan flipped onto the passenger side and landed in the middle of the road.
Alarmed residents call 9-1-1 and the Brampton firefighters had to cut the driver out of the minivan. He was taken to Brampton Civic Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Bhwpall Balgobin, 53, of Brampton has been charged with impaired driving and driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system. No one else was reported injured.
