Earl Wesley Demmerling
After a brief illness and surrounded by his wife Pat and his five children, Demmy passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010.
He was the loving husband of Pat (Rundle), and a devoted father to Barb and Maurice Wilson, Terry and Joseph Lamantia, Dorothy Winchester and Ross MacIntosh, Sandi and Bob Fenlon, and Ted Demmerling and Kelly Olivier. He will always be remembered by his grandchildren Avery, Amy, Nicole, Ashley, Erin, Colin, Wesley, and Hannah, and by his extended family Lyndsey, Rachelle, Lindsey, and Shelby.
Demmy was a brother-in-law of John and Kay Rundle, Paddy and Dorothy Rundle, and Bob and Velma Rundle, and was also loved by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Elsie Bowman and brother Milton Demmerling.
Demmy worked for LTL for 35 years. He was a member of the Listowel Pipe Band for more than 35 years, the Listowel Legion for more than 52 years, the Listowel Curling Club, Barbershop Quartet, and the Listowel Volunteer Fire Department where he went through the ranks to Fire Chief.
He was a faithful member of Christ Anglican Church in Listowel where he sang in the choir, and a member of the NCO. He spent every summer at the family cottage on the shores of Lake Huron. Demmy’s love of animals, especially his dog Mandy, was known by all.
Demmy’s love of life was contagious, evidenced by all of the friends he had. When you met him, you were a stranger only once.
Friends called on Friday, Aug. 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, where a Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary Memorial Service was held at 6:30 p.m. The funeral service was held at Christ Anglican Church, Listowel, on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 11 a.m., with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

John Lewis
John Pugh Lewis of Listowel passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 at the age of 90.
John is survived by his good friends Bob and Jean Coulter and their family of Listowel, and Gene and Judy Thompson and their family of Brussels. He was predeceased by his sister in Wales.
John was born in Wales on April 16, 1920, and came to Canada in 1957. He lived at RR 2 Listowel, and worked at Fisher Farms for 40 years. He retired to Listowel 10 years ago.
The funeral service was held at Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 2 p.m., with interment in Elma Centre Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society would be appreciated.

Lenore Reid
Miss Lenore Annie Louise Reid, of Listowel, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at the age of 95.
Lenore was born in Wallace Township on Dec. 2, 1914 to the late Frederick and Annie (Bartman) Reid. She was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Sunday school, ELW, and the church council.
She was predeceased by her sister Marguerite Liddle and her brother James Reid.
Lenore will be sadly missed by her nephew David Reid of Kitchener, her niece Judy and Mike Hough of Thamesford, four great-nieces, one great-nephew, one great-great niece, and two great-great nephews.
The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel, on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 11 a.m., with visitation for one hour prior. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
Memorial donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
